-A Protective Model

childsexualabuse.jpg

Child sexual abuse investigation is a complex and difficult process that has been plagued by significant errors and scandals throughout the world. The author exposes a number of myths and ideologies that have pervaded the field and led to many of these errors.

Seven insight stimulating cases from the author's personal experience are then described, analysed and linked to existing research. Through this a comprehensive model for the protective investigation of child sexual abuse is developed.

Most importantly though, the heuristic approach, the method by which sound professional judgements are made and errors are best avoided, is for the first time analysed and explaiened.
